Internet keeps cutting out for a veyr small time.

I'm not terribly clued up on network stuff, so appologies for that. It came to my attention because i would lose connection on msn, and then have to sign in again. However i didnt have any problems with the likes of spotify, since that doesn't seem to have to be connected to the internet 100% of the time. Also for the first time in a while i played left for dead on the internet and within the space of about 20 mins i had frozen ingame twice. So to make things clear i get disconnected from the internet, then reconnected very fast, and at the moment i dont have to repair any diagnostics or anything, the pc just carries on as normal, it is however long enough for msn to sign me out, and me to completely lose my slot in a server when playing online.

Your help would be much appreciated.

No, but i'm on virgin media 10mb- so i'ts cable internet

How are you connecting to to the router? Might be a driver issue.

Or possibly a faulty VM modem that keeps losing sync.

I've got a wired router, and that connects to the modem. Sorry if im stating the obvious, but as i say i'm a bit of a noob when it comes to networks. One thing i have noticed is that when looking at online speed checkers, on 2 different checkers my speed ranges from about 6-7mb to 20mb, again i don't know if im splurting useless info, but thanks for your help. I would have said that if it was drivers it would just full stop not work, rather than lose conection for a very short time, then carry on and not even tell me that i have lost connection (except for msn signing me out)...
