Strange topic title but hear me out.

My BeBox router of 6 years died on me about 4 days ago. Sky is sending out another box but it wouldn't be here until after Christmas. 10 days without Internet? I'd rather eat my own entrails ...

I bought a TP LINK wireless router and plugged it in yesterday. It didn't work. All my PC's, laptops, iPAd and phone could pick up the new wireless signal but no internet access.

It said that the Network Adapter weren't installed so I couldn't proceed to install any software as the accompanying software won't let me go any further because of the 'network adapter'.

So I left it as is. Went out last night and literally just woke up. Turned my PC on and the internet is working fine.

Does anyone have any idea how it suddenly started working?

How long did you leave it before concluding that it's not working? Sometimes can take a while to sync a DSL connection.

Haven't used DSL for about 7 years but IIRC you don't need to configure anything for some ISPs. Some give you a password to put into your router, others simply use the physical line as authentication.
