Internet on LAN pc not working

One of the PCS has no internet; my PC is fine as is the laptop which was connected using the same wire/port as the disabled PC. When i type in my router page the login page appears thus it seems to be a software issue right? I have uninstalled the firewall for now and disabled/re-enabled the network via network and sharing. Now i could be imagining things hear but i THINK avast was able to update; since it said "database version released 24/05/12" yet no other programs or features cannot access the internet. Any ideas please?

Could be a DNS fault. Have you checked for malware?

Could be DNS, dodgy IP address, dodgy default gateway, dodgy routing table, duff NIC.

Have you go a valid IP address and not a 169.254.x.x address
Can you ping 127.0.0.1
Can you ping the default gateway
Can you ping something on the internet by IP, ie 8.8.8.8
Can you ping something on the internet by FQDN, ie www.overclockers.co.uk

These test should tell you where the problem lies.
