I'm new to Linux & obviously AOL 9.0 won't work so i was wondering was ISP's you use?

Or is there a way to get AOL to work?

Sorry for the noobish questions

AOL is the spawn of the devil.

Any ISP will work as long as you know your domain name, password, username and all that jazz. All Linux systems will have very similar dialog boxes to help you connect in the same way Windows does.

I don't know if AOL still use that crappy software with their own protocols anymore but if they do you may be out of luck. If they don't anymore it should just like any other isp. If you have an ADSL router it much simplifies the process.

Don't take any notice of this.. not ALL linux systems have similar dialog box's to windows, some do, dome don't. Mine does not for instance.

Stop being such a geek and use a GUI then. :)

Every one I have used has.

I do use a GUI window manager (fluxbox). I don't however see the need for a control panel/network manager etc.. when I can edit configs just as quick.

I am happy to tell you that AOL runs just peachy and no longer needs *** ridiculous software that has often been needed previously.

I for one would rather do without the internet than have to suffer the stupid crappy software mind you, however, it has stopped a lot of people I know from moving to linux rather than have to put up with Vista, and since we realised AOL no longer uses the software, more and more people are gettign rid of Windows and moving over ( Wahey! )

So, yes, AOL does work in Linux, just fine.
