Hi guys im just posting on behalf on my friend. He has just moved into his new house and received the internet today.
He has hit main internet line downstairs, which is route will be plugged in to. What he wants to know is, what will be the best option for him to get internet up the stairs to his computer please?

He dosent really want a wire trailing up the stairs and his route is fully wireless, so is just looking for the best option so it can enable him to game upstairs.

He can get a maximum speed from is ISP of 6mbp's

Kind regards

Personally, I would go with a powerline kit like this. Compared to wireless it offers a faster transfer speed for sharing files/HD video between computers on the network and lower ping - so less lag in online games.

uhm, best way/fastest way would be to use powerline adapters or 'homeplugs'.
this would mean putting one in a main socket downstairs and then one upstairs, both having to be in the main sockets.. in my opinion this is mutch faster then wireless.
correct me if I'm wrong, peace.

Won't pretend I am an expert but I have this. It gives me a higher speed than my laptop ever did (100kBps more :o) I always get the highest speed I can and in games I am always below 80 ping which is fine for gaming in my opinion. Some more serious players would argue you need to be below 20 etc. but I have no problem leading the lobby in CoD4 :p
