My internet has been playing up recently on my Lenovo laptop. It is connected to a virign superhub2 via wifi and has been playing up over the last couple of days. Being incredibly slow sometimes and very unreliable connection other times. My phone and housemates laptop seem to be fine.

I do not have an ethernet cable to test but I will try to get one. I have reset the router many times too. I don't understand why it works fine one minute (such as now) and then awfully the next.

Any ideas?

Drivers are up to date. I had to mess around with the channels loads on the router when I first got it as it's a large house and has to reach every room. I'm currently fluctuating between 4/5 5/5 bars on wifi. It has been rock solid for the past couple of hours... So annoying. Moving house in a couple of months so I may just ride it out and see how it goes.

Have you not considered getting a separate router?

This is definitely related to the power being plugged in. It was working fine when the laptop was charging, I then unplugged it and it stopped working. Plugged it back in and it instantly started working again.

Any ideas?

E - Think I've fixed it. Quick google said something about the wireless adapter reverting to a power saving mode when on battery, this particular power saving mode doesn't seem to play ball with my router so I have changed it to maximum performance on battery and it seems to be fine now!
