Right,

My service was switched to talktalk a day or two ago and i couldnt use my voyager 2091 as it was locked to BT so i dusted off my old 205 wired modem/router.

Connected via ethernet and everything was fine until this morning.

Shut my PC off as normal before i went to bed. Came down this morning only to be greeted with Limited or No Conenctivity :(

Ive reset the modem several times and reset the PC several times also

Basically i cant gert ethernet to work in XP or Vista.

Its not my ISP as the 205 works perfect over USB, but this is no use for Vista.

Any ideas folks?

Well ive tried a different cable with no luck. im hesitant to reformat as it dosent seem to be windows problem as it does it in vista and XP

Yeah i saw that.

Im not convinced its the router though as it works fine via USB.

To be honest im wondering if my ethernet port has decided to die on me

Have you tried using the 2091 to see if you then get a internal 192 address assigned as this will at least tell you if it is the 205 ehternet port dying or an issue with the network port or network settings on the machine. DO not worry about the 2091 being locked as you are wanting to just test if you get a proper ethernet connection to the router not actually connect on the broadband.

With ethernet i cant get into either router

If it didn't work with a router you knew worked and you've tried a different cable, it sounds like the network card's buggered.
