Morning all,

Been having problems with my internet resently, phoned blueyonder last night to check if it was my modem, but they checked it and all was fine. The guy said it must be my pc that is playing up.

I have done a full system scan using norton, used spybot S&D and Ad-aware, none of these have fixed the problem. None of my internet is working can't view a web page can't run any game on-line at all.

I looked at my processes running on task manager and I have loads of things called "Luproxy...." or something like that around 5-6 of them. I'm not at home at the moment so that may not be the right spelling.

I dont know what to do tbh. Can anyone help?

Cheers
Chris

Scan with every antivirus and spyware scanner you can find. then give it a go. Unusual processes normally mean virii or spy.

Make sure your PC is disconnected from the internet until you've finished scanning as most nasties come via trojans and will just come back untill both the spy and the trojan are removed.

Also check your hosts file and gateway settings, though on a modem it should be DHCP.

Which other anti virus & spyware scanners can you recommend? I will have to use my brothers pc to burn them onto a CD and get the latest updates.

If all this fails I will have to format my pc, which I have never done. Hope something works because I dont really want to do that.

Cheers

I found spyware doctor isn't as good as the other mainstream ones but does work well for some of the more obscure Spyware. Like Spyfalcon. AVG, Adaware, Spybot S&D wouldn't remove it properly. if you can get the name of the spyware you have then you can google it and you'll find which anti spy can deal with it.
