Internet Problems

I am supposed to receive 8mb broadband from my ISP AOL, but recently i am getting yet again a very slow connection speed, going onto internet frog and using another called Namesco, Normally i would get rated around 6000+ kb/s which is a nice speed for me and i was happy with it, Now all i get is 100 kb/s, AOL blamed it on me using Zone alarm firewall, well they were wrong about that, They also blamed it on my extension lead (standard phone line extension) they said that was the problem, so i plugged the router straight into the master phone socket and suprise suprise same problem persists.

I have kinda had it with AOL, They always say they will fix it and they never do, You give them a week to fix it and i will be lucky to get 2mb/s,
I cannot see the problem now being on my end as i have tried the router straight into the master phone socket and it does not make it any faster at all.

They arranged to call me back this saturday, They are going to get tech support to do a line test and various other stuff.

Does anyone have any advice as what to do
