I have been asked if there is any way to block specific subjects i.e. gambling sites, pron etc on a business computer. It is running windows XP Home and the owner needs full access but he lets the staff use it during the night. He wants them to be prevented from accessing sites such as the ones I have mentioned. Any ideas please.

There is a content advisor built into Internet Explorer that can do just as you require, you will find it under Tools>Internet Options>Content.

BlueCoats K9 Webfilter will do the job, its completely free, has password override functionality, and its probably the best content filter you can have without it being a hardware solution.

Damn, you beat me too it *waves first*

Use this program it's free, logs sites, password overide, good control centre admin thingy and best of all you can have the dog bark optionally. Now what content filterer has a barking dog, eh?
