Win xp pro firefox 3.0.7 isp pipex homecall (tiscali) over the last few months I have tried to access sites that I go to regularly only to find they take an extremly long time to load or fail saying no data at first it was with one site now it seems more and more are affected .. Is there something I can check to see ifthere is a problem with my configuration .. I have done tracert on the various sites and afte about 10 hops there is a distinct problem however how do I find out more information about the ip that is causing the block,... It isnt the same ip every time though.

Sorry if this sounds a bit muddled but I am just trying to find out if I can do anything I have flushdns and renew my ip also checked my LMHOST files and WNS to make sure I have the correct config and they are fine no problems with DNS servers can connect to quite a few but still have the same problems

Oh one other thing I had the same issue with previous verison of firefox hence upgraded to see if this made a diff also have the same problem when trying to access these sites via IE 7 :(

Whilst my neighbour was trying to rid himself of Tiscalli I ran a 30meter + RJ45 cable from my router to his house Perhaps you have a neighbour who will do the same for you? My neighbour could not believe the o2 service!

If it's taking a long time to load but you're seeing some of the page or you're getting a message saying no data received it's unlikely to have anything to do with DNS. If it was, you'd be getting "cannot find the server" errors.
