easy way to do it 1024x'Meg speed'

so 1024x10mb=10240 kbps, so yes close enough

but these speeds seem excessively high since KBPS and KB/S are different

kbps = netspeed = kilobits per second
kb/s = downlaod speed (or uplaod) = kilobytes per second

also; kbps divided by 8 will give you the rough kb/s of your interent
so 10640 kb/s (which speednet is reporting) seem too high so whats going on???
 
VM, should have done it from their end, but your MODEM must be rebooted to download the new CONFIG file.

Some of the Modems cant handle 20meg even if they claim to as of the CPU and QAM.

I had a old Moto SB 4100 and it was rated for 38meg but as above it had issues, now got a 51meg Moto SB.

You can see this on the VM site and see if you need a new modem.

If you have a Motorola tell me model and go to this address : http://192.168.100.1/

Look in LOG's and see if you have this : E102.0 SW Download INIT - Via Config file cm-20480-768

20meg Service only.

The older STM was 5Mb DL Speed if you DL 3GB from 4pm-12am (inc if you start the DL before 4pm).

The new STM is 5Mb DL Speed and a 256Kb UL speed if you DL 3GB or upload 1.2GB between 4am-9pm (inc if you start the DL before 4pm).

heres the best speed iv ever got on speednet :)
its under 1000 now cuz of the stupid traffic rule, the 'only 3% of top downloaders' are affected is total BS its applies to every1, i havnt downlaoded much for a while now i get automatically capped now after 4 pm and at lasts till way after 9 pm, im thinking about downgrading to 2 mb since they also get capped to 1 mb :(

yup i have the same prob dont download hardly anything in peak hours but my download rate is all over the place.
 


Thats on skybb 16mb service, which i get very high pings due to interleaving

Shall i downgrande to 8mb with fastpath because i rarely get speeds higher than 8300kbs

I think it's just a really really active area, using the same router as I do in Swindon (not just the same make, the actual same router) and it gets full speed.
