It shows my speed at half what it should be. Upload looks okOne of the worst and gives unrealistic results.
interesting. Seems to be nearer to my service.I've used https://speedtest.samknows.com/, seems to be pretty consistent with speedtest.net
So, how do you test the speed you are getting from your ISP is what you should? That doesn’t mean it’s going to be accurate or better.
I am on 900/100 package. So, what should the max speed be and from what site for example. If you have signed up to a service, let’s say for example 80/20 and you download a file from somewhere and you get max speeds that’s how you know your internet is working.
It’s not a hard concept to understand.
I guess if I connect my PC or Laptop directly to the ONT, that will eliminate any possible Router issues as well. Obviously this will be a short test considering exposure to the internet.Depends on your ISP. Some have their own version of a speed checker, which tests the connection from their servers directly to your house.
That is your best option to find your true speed, as anything outside that route will be at the mercy of others' servers.
https://speed.cloudflare.com/ is half decent and gives good stats
Interesting... Looks the same as NperfAt work I use ovh.net - it seems pretty reliable.
Testing on PC via ethernet cable. Checking to see if I am getting what I am paying for.Are you merely doing this out of curiosity, or is there a reason you're testing it? I.e. troubleshooting slow download speed on a laptop connected through your WiFi (seems to be the usual question/complaint posted on these forums these days).
There's lots of variables that can influence your bandwidth, so it really depends what you're trying to achieve.
