Internet Usage software?

Evenin' all.

is there such software to see what where the data is going to, in-case any programs are doing something in the back ground?

I notice i can see stuff in the windows "resource monitor", it this good, or is there any other better software?

Resource Monitor is good. Peerblock & wireshark probably aren't what you're looking for.

yea, bit different to what i wanted.

i'm sure something is going on in the Background... or another computer on the net is doing something (probably the old family PC downstairs which i can't check without being asked what im doing, it's fans are so loud and always revs up when something is happening, even when no one is sitting at the computer.)

when we first got fibre the ping was around 15. now it's hanging around 31.
 
Yes. The mode is set to auto. The line will probably be fast path if it is stable enough.

Not sure what this is to be honest, is it an option in the router or something?

*edit. believe i have to ring BT to turn it off, shame it's not my phone line.
it's nothing major, but it does seem different from first use. i guess it's just bt trying to give a better / clearer connection i.e interlevaling.
