Hello,
I am currently working in Kenya and my employer has asked me to set up a computer purchased from the UK. That was an easy one. I then had to install the accountancy software, Quickbooks, we use. It wouldn't work in Vista and we couldn't update to the latest version (2007) because the auditors haven't got it.
So, I have downloaded and installed virtual pc 2007. I have successfully installed quickbooks, but it needs the internet to update it before it can open the files that contain all the data that I have copied from the old computer. I also need the internet to validate XP within 28 days.
Now, the internet used here comes on a USB dongle. It is basically like a mobile phone and uses a sim card which you buy an allowance on. It isn't therefore a wired connection or the normal types of wireless connection where you have a box connected to the phone line that your computer picks up the signal from.
So with that background could someone help me get the internet, that works on Vista the home O/S, to work on the Virtual PC in XP. There is something blocking its path. I am writing using the internet on the same computer that has this virtual pc on. How do I get the internet on the virtual PC?
This was a very good start: - but it didn't work for me.
