I have an computer running on xp tht my parents want to use. It is basically made from all the old parts i replaced when biuldin my new one. For some reason when i plug in the ethernet cable in directly to the router it wont connect to the internet. it used to be run wirelessly but i took out the adapter and out it into my new one. I do have a usb one but dnt have the cd or know what its called to get the drivers for it someone please help!!

is the link light on your network card?

the ethernet plugs right into the motherboard so there isnt one

does the mobo have dual Ethernet? and are the motherboards Ethernet drivers installed

thts what i thght. tht the ethernet drivers arent there but how do i install them without the internet on it?

check that the network adapter shows up in device manager if not check bios if it is disabled.

Get a pc with internet, from whatever your posting on.
Then put the drivers onto a pen drive or something
