Interplay COMING SOON!!

Did they do Klingon Academy? If they did then how about a remake of that in DX10.
Been no Star Trek game like it since, best part being when you can shoot individual parts of the ship off and watch plasma leaking out.
Now that would be awesome with updated graphics.

Yup they did do klingon academy, used to be a load posters on the ka forums on interplay providing feedback. Lot of us got mentioned in the credits and in the manual the us version came with :D I have an unopened copy of the us release here interplay sent me labelled "NFR not for resale".

I think people are forgetting the fact that Interplay are a publisher and not a developer (though they did have their own in-house team). Most of the titles people are referring to were developed by third parties.

Baldurs Gate etc. (Bioware)
Icewind Dale, Fallout, Planescape Torment (Defunct technically in-house Black Isle Studios though now most of them work for Obsidian)
Descent: Freespace (Volition whose most recent work includes Saints Row and SR: 2)
MDK, Earthworm Jim (Shiny Entertainment)

So yes their return is good with regards possible sequels for the aforementioned titles. However, they will only be good (and I stress this particular point) if they have the developers to back them up. Now considering they are currently still in debt (according to their last quarterly announcement) I'm hard pushed to believe they have the financial resources to produce more than one game atm.

This was quoted from the original link I posted on page 1 regarding Interplay licencing Fallout from Bethesda:
In a special clause of the purchase agreement, Interplay agrees that "full-scale development of its FALLOUT MMOG will commence within 24 months of the Effective Date of this Agreement" and that "Interplay will have secured financing for the FALLOUT MMOG in an amount no less than $30 million" within that time frame or forfeit its license rights for the MMO.

If they manage this I doubt you will see any of the other games you hoped until its release.

OMG, the number of Interplay games that I would like to see new titles of!!

Descent
MDK
Kingpin
Lost Vikings
Swiv

Just a few of the titles, some of my earliest PC gaming memories are from Interplay games, in fact Descent was the first game I got after purchasing my first 3D accelerator card :)

what was that interplay game with 3 characters you had to use to solve puzzles, think it may have been barbarian pirates or dwarfs....cannot remember old skool game

Hmm "Lost Vikings" are owned by Blizzard and most likey would be published by Blizzard Activision if another game was made.

This would be great if they can pull it off, they still have the rights to some very strong titles which I'm sure many people would like to see resurrected. But for me, Stonekeep + 3D - bugs = win.
