I've got an interview this afternoon working for mills newsagents.

I'm not very good at interviews so I'm just wondering if anyone can help me on what to ask etc?! Or if anyone works there and can tell me what to expect?

Thanks

i hated interviews too, i can never look people in the eyes, which is key

instead focus just to the left of their eyes and blur your vision a bit, works wonders and gives the impression you are eyelocked the entire time

Even if it's only a newsagents do good research about the company beforehand and try and find some random questions to ask, interviews are a two way process so have some exchange of information.

Walk in with your pockets turned inside out and your wang dangling from your trousers. Elephants never fail to impress!

Seriously: I don't think it's going to be as formal or complex as an office type job, but turn up smart and presentable, act keen (but not desperate), smile - keep eye contact, and have something to ask.

Do a bit of research on the company and go in with at least a couple of questions to ask yourself. Otherwise be natural and relax. It's okay to say you're nervous - it's expected (EVERYONE is nervous going for an interview) and it shows that you want to impress and want the job. Saying you're nervous will help you relax too.

That's my top tip :D

I found that a killer element that (I believe) nailed me this job was coming prepared with a pad and a list of pre-prepared questions.

As soon as they asked if I had anything further to ask them, out came the pad and their faces lit up.

That's good to know, what job was it for ?

Just be polite, use manners and appear interested. Its the main thing, you'll be suprised how much of a difference stuff like opening doors for the interviewers, offering to pour them a water if your pouring one, etc. It shows you are confident too.

IDK what to say i've only ever gone for two job interviews and each time got the job XD

Though I do the usual, look interested be polite and try to be as laid back as possible, asking general things and try to crack a smile or two out of the interviewer.

Thank god it worked on my last interview working in the call centre job I had was so depressing it was unreal! Good luck buddy i'm sure you'll do fine :)

Thanks guys i took your advice on what to do, questions and eye contact etc and some good news today she rang buy giving me the job....so thanks a lot :-)
