Interview; Suit or No Suit?

remember first impressions are EVERYTHING. A haircut, shave, shirt tie and suit and no horrid tattoos on forearms or revolting percings on show and get a good nights sleep before the interview and make sure you arrive early.

Well, went the interview without a suit... Now to find out if I got the job :D

*sits and waits*

By the sounds of what they were saying they were much more interested in my experience and skills in the field they were recruiting for. Wish me luck :)

I had an interview today.

Smart black trousers, shiny black shoes, nice shirt and tie... and the guy gave me the job... I didn't take it though.

Therefore, suit = overrated.

i would never wear a suit for a interview, trousers and shirt and tie but never a suit, if they don't accept me for what i am then tough basically, like wise i would never wear a suit for a funeral, too depressing

completely disagree with all the mindless "Suit" answers.
Completely depends on the type of job and the type of company.

Jeans and a nice shirt and a jacket over it sounds about right for the type of job you are applying to.

:D

I've got any interview on Tuesday. I asked the dress code and she said 'smart casual' then added 'oh, i dont mean like.. trousers, just jeans and that is fine'.

Should i turn up in a suit? ;)

Definitely dont turn up in one.

Just for the record i wasnt planning to! I was just testing the (as you said) mindless "suit" replies ;)

I agree with you, but i'm not sure about jeans. As much as you can smarten jeans, they are still jeans unfortunately. If someone said to me 'casual' i'd probably go in smart trousers and a shirt (no tie). I was lucky that the lady who offered me my interview said that jeans are fine.
Update; got offered the job :)
Congrats
