I was really looking forward to this, but the reviews are revealing a very barebones game with a lot still to come. I believe the developers have been open and honest about this, but I was hoping for a more finished game.

Has anyone bought it yet and could confirm if it's worth it at the current price?

I'm not sure about the first one, by the time I bought it the game was probably much further developed.

I think I will indeed wait a few months and keep an eye on the update reports. Got plenty of other things to do in the meantime!

Wasn't the first one also a work in progress / early access release ?

It was, but the core of the game was present + a ton of broken and bugged features. Most of the early development was ironing that out. Originally the game wasn't a hit, one of those that you see on VRLFG with 10 players at any given time. Gained a cult following, people started covering it on youtube as the best thing in VR during the doldrums of around 18-19, the patches got bigger and more feature rich as the player base expanded.

The sequel is just treading the same ground with the same limitations that people had hoped they'd expand upon.

Perhaps that changes if the game sells well, but you'd presume they must have made a good wedge from the original to do far more than what they already have. I bought it anyway to support the devs releasing to to the PC, but it's probably something i'll fire up in a year or two like the original.

Couldn't get past the graphics of ITR1 which was a shame for me as most people say it was a good game. The graphics in ITR2 look much improved and idc about bugs in an early access game. Voodoo DE says it's really hard though, I'm not a highly skilled VR gamer. Will probably buy it anyway. Co-op could be fun.
