Intranet searching ?

Hi,

spoke to a web developer a while ago and he said to me it was really easy to add a search facility to the internal intranet, as it just uses some sort of tagging on normal file systems.

True and if so how can it be done ? current intranet where i am i just a simple one in IIS.

I looked into it a little a while back... from what I found (admittedly, this was about a year ago...), it really isn't that easy to get a good intranet search - I assume that it's for regular files, like .doc, .xls, .etc?

yup pretty much.

As all our intranet is, is a site with links to loads of .doc and .xls

Takes ages to find stuff if you have no idea where they are.
