I am looking at getting some kind of Intranet running for our company with the theory that it will be the main source to get information about what is happening in the company as well as things like company phone book etc.
I am not a web design geek but can manage my way round most CMS style stuff like phpbb, seditio, etc.
So I am looking for some sort of "free" cms system that will be flexible enough to let me add things like a searchable address book.

We have in the company something called the procedure manual, which at the moment is done in excel, The front page is a list of sections, when you click the section name it takes you to another list of items in that section, then depending on the item you click on it will open the relevant form or procedure.
What is the easiest way of converting this in to a searchable web app?
