For Overclocking Pro Cup Q1 2014 that just finished today the final challenge in the set of five was to take as many R7 240 GPU and get as good a score on 3D mark 11 as possible.

I modded my R7's with 3 EVGA E- power boards per card one each for Core, Pll and Vmem.

This allowed me to take the card from 720mhz stock to 1590mhz at 1.4v with -45 on each card been the optimum temp. The cards would not scale anymore with volts but still monumental overclock.

3 x 1200w PSU needed 9 PCI X connectors per card!!! lol!!!

I managed a 264mhz/130% overclock on my old ati xpress 200 onboard gpu once. That was stock voltage on air. fastest xpress 200 in 3dmark 03 still. Think it was 2nd on '01. go me :p

Wasn't that uncommon (to be able to hit 100+% clocks if you knew what you were doing) on the low end cards - I had 8500GT SLI WR on 3D Marks with over 100% core clocks without even using LN2 unlike some of the other entries until some **** from Asus came along with factory cherry picked cores and a VRAM config that wasn't available to buy :| kind of killed a lot of my enthusiasm for overclocking that day.

I'm surprised some health and safety body don't have something to say about that to be honest. Strikes me as a tad crazy. You can buff muscle up and regrow it with whatever concoction you like... fingers won't grow back ;)

I'm glad I didn't try it with glade... could have been one smelly mess!


Edit :

To answer your question.... Yes my hardware is overclocked and cooled with standard cooling... for the ability to run 24/7. It isn't however cooled with nitrogen for a stats run like the stuff you play with is - no!
