Invalid Process Detatch Attempt

I have an Overclockers Titan system Intel i7950 overclocked to 4.00ghz. With a nVidia GTX 460, 6gb RAM, ASUS P6X58D-E mobo.

I have had it since April last year and it has been a great system until recently. I do a lot of 3D work and I have found that when I setup my machine to render a bit image that it crashes with this error:

INVALID PROCESS DETATCH ATTEMPT

So why was it working fine for months and now starts to play silly buggers?

I could update my GPU driver but that has been working fine and I am loathed to change it - if it works don't fix it.

Can anyone shed some light?
