I am a big y axis inverter for both first and third person games, on a mouse or controller.
I am playing a few ps1 and early PS2 games these days and I noticed that in all these games the default is push the right analogue stick to the left spins the camera to the left i.e look to the right. In the ps1 games L2 will spin the camera left so you look right. And R2 does the opposite.
Was it always this way in early 3D games? and then at some point we collectively changed our minds and the default of push left to look to the left? I can't remember when this happened lol. Despite playing ps1 and PS2 games through this era.
