Over there...
Last night just popped out (typically) and entered a roundabout to be greeted with an old fiesta sticking out of an AA learner car. I stopped on the roundabout, not exactly behind the old fiesta, when all of a sudden it reversed hard into my Alfa, despite my horn blaring. The driver then drove around the focus it hit, and off up the road.

Not done loads of damage, but it's a pretty car, and "undinged" to this point. Followed the car as best i could, but didnt want to drive like a loon as he was, got the reg number and a partial description, am speaking with the AA guy, so will report it and everything, but really dont see anything coming of it :(

I dunno how you didn't chase him down and beat him to death with your keyboard. You'll find it's likely uninsured, un taxed and/or stolen

:(

Have you put the reg into the insurance database? You might be able to get something from the uninsured fund especially as you have an independent witness who has also been dinged...

You were greeted by an old Fiesta sticking out of an AA learner car?

Then the Fiesta reversed into you and took off? WTF?

I take it he pulled onto the roundabout and there was an AA learner car with a Fiesta parked up it's bum due to an accident seconds/minutes before he got there. He pulled up behind for whatever reason, Fiesta reversed into him and sped off.

well, i did follow him albeit 5-10 seconds after i realised what had happened - and almost caught him up were it not for some lazy sunday driver which REALLY held me up - he didnt have as much regard for public safety and was doing some pretty brave overtakes and then went into an estate which was like a maze...

call police as soon as it happened tbh. they may have had someone in area to catch the blighter.

This happened to me last year on a slip onto the M25, I got the details and called the police at the time, I then went to the police station, waited about 2 hours to be given a 7 day wonder and made to feel like some kind of criminal. Anyway the police chased it up and sent me a letter saying that they couldn't take further action.

I forwarded the letter onto the insurance company (sainsburys) who 6 months later sent me a letter saying that they would fix the car free of charge and waive the excess. I was happy with this as was just about to shell out to get it fixed myself anyway.
