FYI one of the OcUK tech team purcheased one of these yesterday.

when we opened it the HDD inside turns out to be a 1TB Samsung F1 7200rpm

why? it is a perfectly good drive?

just checked the exact model against our database.

it has one of the lowest failure rates of any 1TB drives we have ever sold

You can get a 1Tb external 2.5 and put it in a caddie yourself... but I don't know of any off the shelf.

Agreed, the samsung 1TB drives are solid as, I don't seen to recall any issues.
