iomega external drive not mounting properly. :/

Right, I have an iomega external hard drive. I've had it since January and everything has been fine with it. Then about a month ago it wouldn't show up on my MacBook or my mates MacBook, so thinking it might have just come up with a problem with Macs, I tried it on my dads PC, and nothing showed. So I finally get it to show up on the Mac after messing around and format the drive. It then seems to work fine.

I've just sat down at my desk to make sure I have everything backed up as I want to do a fresh install of my OS and it doesn't show up again. It shows up in disk utility but I can't repair the permissions or anything.

Should I take it back to comet where I got it from or phone iomega about it? Or does someone know what's going on with it and can help me out.

i guess Vista and its problems with not been able to change securtiy, goto safe mode and remove all permissions and add, Administrators and Users tick all of them

or if you do not care whats on the hard disk goto disk management and remove the partition or on Mac OS goto its version of disk management

or the hdd is broke then you need to send it off (Click of death)

Probably enclosure problem IMO. It'll probably work if you take it out the enclosure and plug it in internally, or you could send it back.. whatever!
