iOS 4.0 has been released!

Mine finally installed ok, but its toasted my gmail sync.

The calendar, contacts and mail were all empty last night and it refused to connect to the mail server.

Left it over night and the contacts and calendar seemed to have synced up, its downloaded the mail message headers, but the mail bodies are empty.

Its also not picking up any new mail. This is with the gmail sync configured through the exchange activesync. Looking at the Google support forums, Im not alone in this issue.

Please let us know if you find a solution.

Just checked my phone to find that all of the contacts and calendar entries have disappeared.

My Gmail via Exchange method stopped working this morning, deleted it and re-created it via the Gmail option and it works perfectly. Also noticed that when I delete an email now it says "Archive" instead of delete?

Mine is working now too. I had to change it from Push to Fetch.

Which is weird because my iPhone prior to upgrading was set to Fetch anyway.

It's working ok for me now as well. I had switched to normal Gmail configuration, but I've just set it up as an Exchange account again and both mail and calendars appear to be syncing fine. I have mail set to push as well.

If you set it up this way do you get the calendar and contact sync? I thought that only worked via Exchange?

The 3G iPhone has been a absolute dog since 3.0!

I want 1.1.6 back! At least it was damn snappy!

I've found mine has become a little snappier for some things with iOS4 (opening basic apps like Twitter and Facebook), although that could just be thanks to the restore. It does seem to be a bit slower for other tasks though, such as starting the camera app, but then it was running like a dog with everything before I installed iOS4.

Hopefully it'll not be long until I can get an iPhone 4 anyway, it's only got to keep going until then.

Speed wise its the same for me on my Touch 2G. Don't really see the point in updating, annoyed that I lost all my music.

iBooks is awfully slow though. And the lack of background wallpapers is ridiculous. Seriously, how much CPU/Ram could it possibly need to have a custom background?

I basically lost everything and have had to wipe the phone and start again!

I'm still this minute syncing even though i downloaded last night at 6!

So glad i backed up all my photo's in a separate application as my iTunes backup was fubared...

My 3G is pretty slow on 4.0, I can see why they didn't want multitasking or background wallpapers - mine clearly can't cope.

Saying that, I had a quick use on my sister's new(ish) 3GS on the weekend and it is so much snappier.

I must be being stupid but where do you see all the new features?

I've installed the update onto my 3GS and can now see the wallpaper and the digital zoom in the camera but that's about it? How do I create folders?

:o

Drag an app onto another app...

And GM build working perfectly here!

Edit: As is my backup! You lot must have really buggered something up!
