iOS crapware to be removable (at some point)

Source from Mr Cook himself.

Why are there apps on the iOS that I can’t delete even though I never use them? Why does Apple insist that I keep Tips and Stocks”on my iPhone when I’d like nothing more than to delete them? For Cook the question seems a familiar one. “This is a more complex issue than it first appears,” he says. “There are some apps that are linked to something else on the iPhone. If they were to be removed they might cause issues elsewhere on the phone. There are other apps that aren’t like that. So over time, I think with the ones that aren’t like that, we’ll figure out a way [for you to remove them]. … It’s not that we want to suck up your real estate; we’re not motivated to do that. We want you to be happy. So I recognize that some people want to do this, and it’s something we’re looking at.”

I'll be pleased with the option to remove stocks, watch and weather if they are classed as removable apps in future!

why does it even bother people, just move them to a folder and ignore, I wouldn't class the watch app as "carpware" if you have an apple watch

The standard apps don't really bother me, again I just put them into there own folder and forget about them.
Good to know Apple are listening and they are looking at a way of giving users the ability to remove them if they want, even giving the ability to hide them would be a step in the right direction in my view.

Absolutely should be an option to remove apps you don't want, I have no desire to ever own an Apple Watch, no need for that app to be on my phone.

This is good to hear.

It'd be nice to be able to remove them, but they don't really bother me that much, I just move all the Apple apps I don't want/never to use a folder named Apple.

I'd be happy with an option just to hide them with a settings menu to re-instate them if I wanted to, it's no big deal putting them in a junk folder but it would be much cleaner if you could just hide the icon away.

Will this include Game Center? I'm beginning to get right fed up with it asking me to sign in all the time. I don't want to play with with others, leave me alone......

This. I'm not too fussed about having to have them installed as they take up hardly any space on my phone/backup, but it would be nice if I could just hide them from the home screen. My 'Productiviity' folder is anything but productive.

How about having the app removed as standard but allowing those who buy an apple watch to then...

Wait for it

Download the apple watch app !!

Boom that's genius right there, apple can have that idea for free, I don't want anything for it just trying to do my bit.

It bothers me more that some apps really could just be combined.

I.e
Photos and Videos can just go into the camera app.
Contacts, Facetime can go into the Phone app
ITunes and App stores into a single Store App
Compass into Maps
Clock and Reminders into Calendar

There's 8 apps cleared away already.

Having to open the Camera app to gain access to unrelated Videos would be daft. :p

A combined store for all types of content isn't a bad idea, but some of the others would be a nightmare.
