Can anyone who has upgraded their OS on the iPhone 4 (non-S version) comment on how the usability/speed is compared to iOS 6.1.3? Is the 'upgrade' worthwhile?

EDIT: Mods please move to the Apple software section.

OK, that helps, so maybe I won't get the same shock as I only have the 3G and 4.

Anyone tried a downgrade back to iOS 6.1.3? The instructions on the internet seem to be very straight forward, so if someone can confirm the rollback works, then there's no harm in me trying the new one ;)

I have the 4 and I'm not even going to bother with ios7, my phone is slow enough as it is :(

I inherited my wife's 4 and bought her the 5 a while ago as her 4 was incredibly slow and buggy. Did a factory reset and works perfectly for me, I love it :D So try the hard reset then restore.

Yas, see my comment above. It seems to me a slow iphone 4 (on iOS 6) is just due to build up of crap over time. A factory reset really did the trick for me and I actually have no complaints about the 4 (coming from a Nokia 820).

I'll update it tonight and if I don't like it it looks to be fairly easy to go back. One thing I couldn't find online is if it is possible to take a copy of my current iOS 6.1.3 (not a iPhone backup) and use that if I want to go back instead of downloading one from the internet (kinda of like you can do with GPUz on a graphics card before a bios flash)?

Updated it last night and it works fine, no determinable loss of battery life. Only downsides are it is marginally slower to open apps, overall look isn't as good but is nice Apple finally did something different. For me it's worth it just for the control centre with ease of access to Bluetooth on/off, but also the new tabs to switch between and close apps is a great improvement, increased folder size and safari tab limitation lifted, and new ringtones are a nice bonus.

Just remember to switch off access to control centre on the lock screen as apparently there is a security flaw which would allow a thief to disabled airplane mode thereby removing your ability to remotely wipe or locate the phone using Find my iPhone.

Upgraded my 4s to 7 this morning. It feels really sluggish, and I'm skeptical of the new design. It took me a good 5 minutes to work out how to close an app compared to the 6 way -_-

Never used the Google chrome app or an android device? If not I guess it's not obvious.

Actually noticed improved battery life today but also a random crash, which never happened on iOS 6.

Is anyone else having trouble logging in to find my iPhone app? I type in my email and password hit login, the signing in thing spins for a couple of seconds then nothing happens, it just stays on the login screen

No problems with speed on my 32gig iphone 4 here. And the battery life has dramatically improved. Not sure how or why but it has. Might be cos I turned off auto app updates and bluetotooth, plus traffic in privacy / location services/ system services / traffic. Much much better. Happy now.

I have all of those swithced on and still the battery life is better than on ios 6.1.3!

The slight lagginess will annoy me over time but for now it's fine and i like the new look and feel.
