iOS8 Health app

I'm waiting for Nike+ integration.

It does currently track distance walked / run by default, which is cool

It won't be draining battery, on its own. Any monitoring/tracking of the phones sensors isn't handled by the main CPU, so should have no/minimal impact on battery usage.

'Health' works quite nicely with the new Jawbone 'Up' app. I use is to track steps (without the 'Up' wristband). I also track my sleep (manually) each morning.

Both of these data points are then pulled into 'Health', where I have a pretty basic dashboard of steps taken, sleep pattern, flights climbed and weight (which I enter manually atm).

I've never bothered tracking activity/fitness before, so finding it to be a bit of a novelty at the moment.

I link mine too:
Strava
MyFitnessPal
Argus

I still general look at each app though and for the most part ignore the health app. Will need some more apps to integrate before it becomes more useful.

This is the one I'm waiting for. Was also waiting for Fitbit integration but they've turned round and said they currently have no plans which is a shame as I thought they were going to be some sort of launch partner.

If I could use the Nike+ integration to pull/push running data from/to the Nike+ website then I will be a happy bunny.

I normally use an armband with my phone (purely for music) and my Nike+ trainers linked to my Nike+ watch whilst running. However, I hate having to plug the watch in to the PC/Mac to upload the run data, so it would be cool if I could simply run using the iPhone and have Healthkit monitor the distance, pace etc and push that up to Nike+.

I suspect it will only be an import style app, but oh well. Basically, what I'm saying is; I want to go for a run and have the phone track it all and sync with Nike+, with little to no user interaction :p

I can't see the iPhone tracking pushing to Nike+ but taking out the HealthKit side why not just use the Nike+ Running app? Will do exactly what you want minus HealthKit.
I used to use the Nike+ Running app and it was fantastic but I've since got myself the Nike+ Watch so now use that, but I have found that the Nike+ app is more reliable on the treadmill than the sport watch with sensor but thats probably due to lots of runs using the app and so being calibrated.

The Nike team annoy me, they've been partners with Apple since day one and yet they're never there out the gates. I'm hoping it won't be too long with Nike seeing as they haven't got a "Pro" platform like Fitbit which is probably why Fitbit have said they currently have no plans.

I can see another Apple Maps on the horizon like when that was first released. Lets hope HealthKit gets a lot better and sooner rather than later.

Since I got the watch I never use the Nike+ app (unless I forget the watch :o) although I agree, the watch is useless on the treadmill.

I tend to run on the treadmill with the gps sensor turned off and it's better, but I've known it to tell me that I'm running 5 minute miles randomly (no chance) :D
