Well currently im on SKY. I can change my I.P but im using a wireless booster (that is also connected to my computer by LAN) and for some reason even when I change my I.P a different forum still know who I am even if I make a new account.

I set the booster the static IP aswell which is normally SmartIP

I assume you mean you changed your outside IP address but rebooting your router or something like that? Assuming its a dynamic IP address that Sky have given you.

Changing your internal network IP won't make a difference, as your outside IP will still be the same. It will only change depending on lease time from Sky.

The forum could also use wildcards and block IP address ranges, rather than just one IP address.

If you change the IPv4 address on your computer, it won't make a difference. Thats just a private address assigned (usually) by DHCP or statically by inputting it yourself.

Once you go outside your network to the internet, your router will use NAT/PAT to change your private address to a public one. This public one is assigned to you by Sky and only they can change it.

You can't change your public IP address manually. Sometimes, shutting down the router, waiting awhile, powering it up again will give you a new one, but it varies a lot depending on lease time of addresses.

Like I said, the forum probably blocked a range of IP addresses relating to your one.
