As title got a db power wifi IP camera, I use it for CCTV, if its connected via WIFI however after about 10 mins the cam drops the connection :(, if its connected via cable it never drops out, any ideas? I wish to put one in the garden and use wifi to connect the data, obviously it needs to remain 'on' at all times, help please :)

change wifi channel? We get disconnects here all the time with wifi, it's really not as good as they promise especially if like us everyone has wireless phones, wifi etc.

difficult to say of course...netstumbler and see what's on that channel already? I'm guessing you've had a good play already, but in my extremely limited play with a wireless IP camera, it was just the camera that wasn't good enough to hold a wifi signal whilst when it was cat5'd up it was fine...can't remember the make/model of camera however, it was a favour for a friend of a friends dogs sisters mother, if you know what I mean!

its channel 4, all other networks in range are 7 or 11, my backup is 9 (so 4primary-->9), im getting 2 more of the cameras tomorrow hopefully so ill see how they hold up, there awesome cameras, but if it comes to it ill have to do a rewiring jobby. Iv checked my router and its got its lease time set 'forever', I can only guess the cam is set to D/C after a time if is that, but there is no hint of this in its options/controls. Otherwise it drops the signal ? :S

yeah, the one I played was picky..would disconnect after about 15-20 mins. Would then scan for about 30 secs before reconnecting so you missed about a minute of footage. Otherwise was top....wired didn't appear to disconnect at all
