IP Camera's

Hey all,
I'm on the lookout for a handful of IP camera's, either wired (ideally POE but not essential) or wireless, for use both indoors (something small and compact would be ideal) and outdoors around the house.
Only real requirement is that they work with Synology's surveillance app (will happily got through any recommendations to sort out compatibility) but otherwise i'm open to suggestions for anything up to the £200 mark per camera as long as picture quality is reasonable.

From my scour around the internet and forums my current list is -
  • Y-Cam Cube HD or Bullet - PQ looks pretty decent and prices aren't too bad.
  • Dahua IPC-HFW3200SP or IPC-HFW2100P - Both get decent reviews and demo videos seem to show PQ is again pretty decent.
  • Merit Lilin LR7022 - Similar price to the above and seem to offer a similar PQ.
  • Sony DH110.
  • Vivotek IP8132 or IP8133 - Compact cameras for indoors, seem pretty reasonable for the price and PQ.
  • Vivotek IP8330 or IP8331.
  • Vivotek IP8134 - Wireless compact camera.
  • Ubiquiti AirCam's (either of the models) - Seem to extremely well priced (£60-80 mark) and the PQ doesn't look shabby for 1MP camera's.
  • Foscam of sorts (FI8910W or FI8905E perhaps) - PQ seems a bit 'meh' and from what i gather there tends to be a lot of fakes around but they appear to be relativity cheap devices (seen a few threads on here where people have mentioned them).

Are there any models of the above i should really consider or has anyone got any other manufacturers/models (perhaps some Hong Kong/Chinese 'specials') i should look at?

It all seems a bit of a minefield, so any input is much appreciated :)

i have a original Foscam FI8906W IP camera outside my house and tbh it's a really good camera for the price. it takes great day time pictures/video and the night time pictures/video are very good also..

if your looking for a top quality ip camera you'll have to pay way over £100

Foscam FI8910W user here. Pretty good. Quality isn't suburb, but it's good enough.

To get an idea of the quality, I searched models and brands on Youtube. You will often find people demonstrating them and it gives you a great idea of what to expect from each one.

I am in the same boat and I have been looking quite a bit at the Lilin camera's. The quality of the video from them is impressive. Thats the important factor. It's no good buying a camera if the quality of the picture is poor or average. Also you need to decideif nightvision is required and like me, its essential if it for outdoor security. The Lilin camera's do offer fantastic nightvision.

yeah the main reason why i got a Foscam FI8906W is because it has 60 IR LEDs, Night visibility up to 30 metres. IR-Cut Filter. which is very good for £74.

it's just a shame it's not HD... but i'm happy with it still

Hikvision were mentioned in a thread around here lately. Seem to be doing things right - image quality is good, pricing is aggressive but not to the levels of corners being cut, and they are all Onvif compliant and have profiles for them in Milestone already.

I just buy whatever Axis sell that meets the requirements, but I appreciate that's not a luxury most people have.

Thanks everyone!

Bit weary of Foscam's as there's apparently a lot of fakes around, although i'll take a closer look at the models mentioned here.
Although the Hikvision's appear to be an absolute blinder of a camera considering the money (£130 odd is what i've seen them for) and picture quality looks pretty decent from the screenshots posted and Youtube videos.

Apart from the Foscam FI8906W, can anyone recommend any other wireless IP camera's? Just realised there's potentially a location that might be a bit of a pig to get ethernet to.

Again, cheers again; really appreciate the replies! :)
