i have the asus commando board at the mo with a e6600 cpu i've just brought the q6600 go and was wondering if i should buy a IP35 chipset mobo to go with or just stick with the asus,i.e would i see a decent increase in speed or just a marginal upgrade.ddr3 is not and issue cause in a year or two when prices come down there will better mobo's to buy.

The Asus Commando is still a really good motherboard, the increase you'll see would be a good one and would be a good upgrade. The Commando doesn't seem to support 1333 FSB natively either, although does support 45nm CPU's which is a bit odd. If you upgraded I'm sure you'll be happy with the move, but it's not huge upgrade and I would be tempted to wait for the Nvidia 7xx's chipsets, or even seeing how the AMD CPU's perform in case you wanted to switch. So, in my opinion, I would hang in until the end of the year and upgrade then when you have more choice (X38, X48, Nvidia 750/780).
