Couple of quick (and probably stupid) questions.

1. Should I mount the whole thing before installing MB?
2. 3 Pin on fan - 4 pin on MB - erm...?
3. Whats the other cable on the fan for...
4. How do I know which way round the fan is blowing (If that makes sense).

Sorry to be such a twonk, but not built anything in ages and am paranoid everything is going to head south for the winter as they say..

Cheers :)

1. I'd mount it on the motherboard out of the case, supporting it from the underside although this may not be necessary.
2. You should have a 3pin somewhere on your motherboard near the socket?
4. Not sure, not have instructions with the fan in question explaining what this extra cable does?
4. Put your hand over it and you will soon know if its drawing or blowing air. Though this wont be possible because your having trouble connecting it! Sorry :p

Nothing in the instructions stating what the other cable is that I can see.

Looks like some kinda power cable, 2 pin - black and red wires... hmmm

you can plug the 3-pin into the 4pin on the motherboard but you wont beable to control fan speed via BIOS or software, if you want to control fan speed via software i.e. speedfan then plug it into one of your 3pin chasis fan connectors... you may have your MB throw a fit at not dectecting a CPU fan however
