IP35 Pro USB Boot stick...RESOLVED

I've made a USB Boot stick (15 files on the stick), but I cannot get my PC to boot from it. Within the mobo bios I have set:
The 1st boot device as the CD ROM drive
2nd device, I worked through all of the USB options in turn.
3rd device is HDD
I know I'm missing something here (again).
Any help would be appreciated.

It's been a while since I did it, but I think the USB stick is actually considered to be a hard drive, and it needs to be placed at the top of the hard drive boot order.

But, like I say, it's been a while and that may be for another board.

Aha,
Some progress...cheers...at least I now get 'Invalid system disk' message...must be a problem with the files on the disk...this is what I have:

AUTOEXEC.BAT
COMMAND.COM
CONFIG.SYS
DISPLAY.SYS
EGA2.CPI
EGA3.CPI
EGA.CPI
IO.SYS
KEYB.COM
KEYBOARD.SYS
KEYBRD2.SYS
KEYBRD3.SYS
KEYBRD4.SYS
MODE.COM
MSDOS.SYS

Is there something missing? Do they have to be in a particular order?

No they don't have to be in a particular order, but I've no idea which files need to be on the stick. Which program are you trying to run? And which program did you use to make the stick bootable?

I used the info from this site http://www.techpowerup.com/printarticle.php?id=34 (I'm trying to reflash my graphics card).

I'm a bit of a noob at this and I'm discovering stuff all the time...but it takes me a while to gather and interpret the info...and there's plenty of it!

Your info was spot on...but now I've discovered that the boot sequence will always revert back to the HDD...I have to redefine the bios every time I want it to boot from the USB...no big thing, but I was not aware of it...

Lot to learn...it's interesting/frustrating...good to get input from you guys who are a lot more clued up...

Yeah the HP utility is the one I would have recommended. I used it for making a bootable USB stick for flashing the motherboards BIOS. But I've never flashed a graphics cards BIOS.

Thanks Cob...because of the mobo/graphics card link I've been asking the question on the graphics card forum...with the input I'm getting, I feel I'm very close to resolving my problem...thank goodness for all those people who have 'been there, done that'...and their willingness to impart the info :D...
