Hi all,

Just got my new rig and I am in the process of building it, I have installed all of my components onto the mobo Abit IP35-PRO and I am in the process of installing vista so far so good, I have one concern on the mobo there is a red light 3VSB in the manual this states that this light indicates if there is a power supply connected with a power source. Is this red light an issue ? Everything is working fine.

I am wondering if it is due to the fact that I only have a 4 pin ATX12v lead rather than the 8 pin EPS12v ? it states in the manual it is better to use the 8 pin but a 4 pin will work.

I am using an Hiper 580w PSU
Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks

Shorty

if light is on, powersupply is connected

You are not the only one . I thought the same when i first turned on my Abit Nf7-s

Asus boards have green LEDs which are more intuitive imho.

abits tend to have a red LED for 5VSB (to show that the board has power i.e. not off) & a green LED that illuminates when the board is actually switched on.

And a bloomin-great double-digit LED that tells you what's going on. Too many lights. Especially the blue ones. Added cost/profit margin for no great benefit I reckon.

No blue lights on an IP35 Pro iirc?
On the boards that do have the LED backlighting (MAXs etc.) it's there for the bling, bling particularly those users with windowed cases.
