I've used my iPad 2 for several months with no problems, now the touchscreen has gone ...weird.

The above paragraph was typed unplugged, the following is the same paragraph with the iPad connected to the charger:

I've used m,y. iPad 2 fair. Servers.l mown,ths wwtth no propbzlkemcs,z now the toquchhslcrten.
Hahs gonE .b.b.mzweird.

See what I mean? The touchscreen is registering touches all over the shop. The next paragraph is me just hitting backspace five timespueeoewwttrurre

...right.

Any of you come across this before? It's driving me nuts!

I've found a similar problem, if I type a message after I've had a few beers, it comes out a bit like the above.

:)

Sounds like something is a bit messed up with it then.
Perhaps try making a Genius appointment and show Apple.

Done that already, RKO - it's second nature to an iPad owner :/

Damn, was hoping to avoid a trip to Apple.

Weird one, my girlfriend has a plug charger that if you plug in any touch device is starts doing this, it's a cheap third party one and the problem is confined to using that charger. You make it sound like it is the official charger though?

New cable, same charger - problem gone.

There you have it, folks - a worn cable can give your iPad epilepsy.
