iPad 2 screen repair?

A lot of stuff I've read seems to suggest a small claim won't effect your premium as much as people tend to make out, especially when paying a big excess and first claim in four years with same company.

Just thought I'd advice people of my resent experience of my coop premier account. Cost me £13 per month, loads of benefits I feel, phone insurance plus I chose gadget cover. Dropped my iPad 3, top screen cracked, sent to them Saturday morning royal mail special delivery and received screen repaired the following Friday, very good job, no finger prints on the LCD underneath and feel they have done a really good job. Can't beat it for £50 excess.

They aren't that hard to repair yourself - you will need some idea of what you're doing, the replacement digitiser which is about £30-£40, a couple of suction cup things and a heat gun. Obviously if you don't have the tools kicking around already then it's probably not worth doing, but it's not difficult if you take your time and lift everything carefully so as not to cut through any ribbon cables.
