iPad 3 charging "felt" on rear of device

If I charge my new iPad and slide my finger up along the rear it sort of feels tingly, like a low charge or static.

When I disconnect it, the feeling goes.

Is mine abnormal?

Just seem to have fixed it - would appear the dock connector wasn't in properly and touching the back casing!

Yeah it's normal, every iPad has done it.

It's nothing to do with the connector, it will do it regardless

Oh goody, I thought it was just mine when I got it. iPhone never does it and only seems to happen when resting on a surface.

It's the aluminium on the back, which obviously the iPhone doesn't have

Yeah it's normal, every iPad has done it.

It's nothing to do with the connector, it will do it regardless

It happens to me on my girlfriends mbp too, when she has it on her lap and I touch her I feel a tingle, same with my iPad 2.

My iPad and iPad 2 did/do the same thing so I'm inclined to believe it's normal for these devices, possibly due to the aluminium casing.
