I've just replaced my ageing original iPad with a lovely new Air but now I'm after a minimalistic case.
I had my original iPad in the Official Apple Case that you could get and loved it because there was nearly zero bulk added to it but I can't seem to find one, more or less the same for the Air.
Admittedly I haven't had a proper look at the Apple Smart Case but I'm put off by the price tag for that.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Cheers.

I've got an Invision front and back case for my iPad air. Its great adds the protection you want without any noticeable extra bulk and it only cost me £15

Personally I would go for the official smart case. It's a little pricey as you state but you won't get quality like it, it will last you as long as the air will itself, not to mention most of all you will be happy with it as long as you have it. Good protection too for your general use.

I liked the look of the smart case but the reviews it seems to get (or at least did at the time) on the Apple store really put me off.

The thing I don't like about a lot of the case is that they are held in by the edge where as the original iPad case you slipped it in so there as no chance of it falling out. The cases that are designed like the original case are cheap and bulky and want to offer you 'Genuine P/Leather'.
