Ipad apps on multiple machines

My missus has an Ipad and as much as it pains me to say it I quite like it

If I were to get one too there is an app that I installed on there ( £20 ) that was for me really, so could I install it on another Ipad without paying, I would be ok if it was only on the new one and not used on the old one

so if I use my missus' ID then I will be ok ?

I'm not trying to be sneaky as as soon as they are on mine then they wont be used on hers
