Am thinking of buying the above to transfer video from my GoPro HD cam to my iPad whilst I'm away next week (only have 2x 16gb sd cards, should be enough but just incase)

Does anyone know if that little connection device will allow you to transfer the video files from the sd card to the ipad even though the file type of the videos is not supported on the ipad?

Edit: GoPro HD video files are saved as mp4 files with .h264 encoding

Thanks

Just tried it.

Connecting it directly to the GoPro doesn't work with the USB attachment.

If you use the Card Reader attachment though it does connect and transfer the videos.

Only downside I can see is that the videos that GoPro creates are pretty large. While I've used my iPad while travelling to store photos, I think videos may eat up space too quickly. Probably worth testing out yourself first to see whether its a worthwhile option.

Thanks.
Just to clarify something, the connection kit was plugged into the ipad, and then a usb cable from GoPro to the connection kit? This didnt work..

But putting the sd card from the GoPro into the kit and then into the ipad, you were able to transfer the videos? That worked...?

My iPad is 32GB without about 15gb free. thats about 1 sd card, should be plenty.

Thanks

If it helps, there are cheaper versions available (can't say where due to forum rules) than the official Apple one, I've got one and it works just as well. Might save you a few bob. I've used it to transfer videos from my GoPro's SD card before, so no dramas there.
