iPad - can you create desktop shortcuts?

Is it possible to create shortcuts on the iPad desktop or ina seperate folder to things like pdfs and movie files?

Company has just bought one for customers to use to view promo films and presentations and it would be nicer if they can access each item direct from the screen rather than via each indiviual app.

Don't think it can do that, unless you jailbreak.

You can import PDF's into iBooks and videos in to 'Videos'.

You can also create home screen shortcuts to web pages (that's how 'web apps' work).

Yeah I think that is only possible through jailbreak. Not sure for this but i think iOS5 will introduce this
