Got a Worcester Bosch combi with a Siemens RF thermostat.

Would like something a bit better, does a thermostat exist that has iPad functionality?

Trying to automate my flat, I have remote control lighting and multi zone Sonos through the iPad, would like to automate heating next, and then the curtains :P

My friend's company develops software to remotely control building systems - things like heat, light and security. They have iPhone apps for that.

Not sure you'd be happy with the licensing fees for one flat and a combi boiler, mind you.

Just sellotape the RF controller to the back of your ipad along with all your remote controls and game pads. SIMPLES!

I use IR lights, they work very well, but yes proper home automation is expensive, was wondering as I want to replace the wireless thermostat I have as it's not very good programming wise, thoguh very useful to use when in bed. A decent RF thermostat (e.g. REV24RF) is £100 or so, was hoping a unit with WLAN embedded to get commands from an iPad app wouldn't be that much..

search some hydroponic chilli growing forums, heating, humidity, co2, lights + fans all controlled by computer on the cheap. not sure about i pad but i've read about people controlling their chilli grows when they are away working using remote access.

edit: valliant boilers controls offer this too if i remember right. stopped fitting their boilers a couple of years ago so not upto spec on them. have a look on their website.

edit: scrub that cant find it there at all now. i know i read about remotely switching the heating on on the way home from work (from mobiles), they might have pulled it due to problems.

Just saw an Ecobee WiFi Thermostat which looks pretty cool, has Android/iPhone control, plus a very nice remote. Not too bad at ~$400, I am guessing these things are pretty easy to wire in?
