I'm looking to become a Jamie Oliver in the kitchen...
The JO Apps are generally very well made, but they get very expensive, very quickly.
Jamie's Recipes is the best of the bunch and has plenty of excellent recipes, along with videos, fantastic photography and a general feel of quality about the whole thing. You'll get your money's worth out of it if you like Jamie's work, but his style isn't for everyone.
Apart from that, well, choices are limited. It's so expensive and time-consuming to produce videos for a dedicated App that most rehash generic stuff or just don't bother at all.
The general cooking/recipe Apps that seem to get recommended on a regular basis are things like Epicurous, BigOven, Allrecipes, etc. None of which I'd even bother with myself, but your mileage may vary.
However, there are some excellent magazines that are crammed with fantastic recipes, so all is not lost - and these I
would recommend.
The Lakeland and Co-op magazines are free and well worth downloading, and both feature some small video recipes and sme stunning photography amongst the adverts for both shops
On the paid App front, BBC Good Food and Olive are the pick of the bunch, although video is somewhat thin on the ground in both, but the rest of the content more than makes up for that.
Delicious Magazine are apparently working on their own App, which should be right up there with Good Food and Olive, but it seems to be stuck in development hell as they've been working on it for what seems like
ages.
