iPad disabled

Hi,

My elderly neighbour has an iPad 2 mini.

Recently she was prompted to update it which she attempted.

It then asked for her Apple ID. She entered this wrongly a number of times (she forgot the first letter was a capital!)

The iPad now says its disabled and needs connecting to iTunes. As my neighbour does not have a computer I offered to connect it to my Mac.

I have tried to put it into recovery mode but once the iPad restarted it asked for a passcode. I know for a fact my neighbour has not set a passcode.

I entered my passcode (as I thought it might ask for this as it had been connected to my Mac).

This resulted in the iPad stating it was disabled again.

I am able to get onto my neighbours iCloud settings page as we have the password. But can't seem to find a way to reset or restore the iPad.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hussman.
