Something that I'd get free on android, so loathed to spend anything on this, but I think I'll have to bite the bullet.
Media centrally hosted at home with plex and serviio serving to phones/chromecast.
But I have no way of playing any of this networked media on my iPad. I'd like the ability to watch movies/TV programs, and would like to be able to listen to music.
Audio is in a few different formats, approx 30gb, all sorted in folders. Ideally I'd like something similar to WMP in terms of track sorting and ability to select different ways to play (all/artist/album etc).
Video wise, doesn't need to look pretty, just needs to display everything.
Would sticking to plex/dlna be the best option? Or does that limit me when it comes to viewing on-device media when I'm away from home?
